Solution:
Total RCC work = (12/12) * (18/12) *30*2
= 90ft3
Dry volume = (1.5*90)ft3
= 135ft3
Sum of proportion = 1+1.5+3=5.5
Amount of cement required = (1/5.5 )*135
= 24.54 ft3
=(24.54/1.25) bag cement
= 19.63 bag cement
≂ 20 bag cement
Answer : 20 bag cement
Problem 2: Find out required number of bricks for work volume 75ft3
Solution: Volume of brick work =75cm3
= {75/(12x12x12) }
= 0.0434
= 0.0434x12 Nos Brick
= 0.52 Nos Brick
≂ 1 Nos brick
Answer: 1 Nos Brick
Problem 3: A hollow steel pipe which inside dia 10 mm, wall thickness 2 mm and length of pipe is 15 mm. Determine the weight of steel pipe in Kg, if unit weight of steel pipe is 7850 Kg/m3
Solution: Volume of steel = π/4 [ (14/100)2 -(10/1000)2] x (15/100)
= 1.131 x 10-6 m3
Weight of steel pipe = 1.131 x 10-6 m3 x 7850 Kg/m3
= 0.0089Kg
Answer: 0.0089Kg
Problem 4: Determine the number of brick required of a 500 m3 masonry wall?
Solution:
For 1 m3 brick work required brick =420 Nos
For 500 m3 brick work required brick =(420x500) Nos
= 210000 Nos
Answer: 210000 Nos
